Hydroponics bringing the farm to Denver with new market

DENVER (KDVR) -- Lemon basil so fresh it tastes like Froot Loops, chocolate mint, orange thyme and 49 other plant varieties all grown from indoor vertical towers. This is just the start for Farm and Market, the new market and restaurant opening up in RiNo in mid-September. The idea started in the winter when co-owner Davis Breedlove wanted to make his wife fresh romaine during the wintertime. After a trip to Home Depot, Breedlove made a hydroponic garden, which is a water-based system used to grow plants rather than soil. Once they felt the texture and tasted it, they knew they had to share it with everyone. Here’s how much the Denver skyline changed in the past 20 years Growing racks in Farm+Market. So he walked into the two-car garage, where the shutoff valve was located — unaware that a bear had wandered in a minute earlier. The next thing he knew, he said, he was thrown against shelving units, heard a growl and knew immediately it was a bear. When he turned to flee, the bear bit him on the head. KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Ukrainian drones hit a Russian tanker in the Black Sea near Crimea, according to Russian officials and video circulating on social media. The late Friday night strike was the second sea attack involving drones in one day, after Ukraine struck a major Russian port earlier Friday. In the wake of that withdrawal, Russia carried out repeated strikes on Ukrainian ports, including Odesa. An official with Ukraine’s Security Service confirmed to The Associated Press that the service was behind the attack on the tanker, which was transporting fuel for Russian forces. WASHINGTON (WDCW) – Former President Donald Trump caused a stir in the DC area after claiming the District is graffiti-riddled and filthy with "decay" and "broken buildings."Trump's comments came after he arrived in Washington D.C. on Thursday to face arraignment for his third indictment case.On Friday, Nexstar's WDCW retraced the former president's journey from Reagan National Airport to the federal courthouse, to see what he claimed he saw on the route.Going over the 14th Street Bridge into D.C., with the Jefferson Memorial on the left, Trump would have seen isolated spots of graffiti on the sides of bridges heading into the Third Street Tunnel.Other than the normal wear and tear of some aging infrastructure, there weren't any broken buildings or walls on the route that the former president took."Basically, it sounds like a lot of lies," D.C. resident Cornelius Scott said of Trump's comments. Movie review: ‘Mutant Mayhem’ a fresh, authentic take on the ninja turtles

Published Thu, 06 Mar 2025 15:36:06 GMT

Radioactive ooze generated the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and “Spider-man: Into the Spider-Verse” has helped birth “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem,” the new animated feature about everyone’s favorite rambunctious, pizza-loving reptiles. Directors Jeff Rowe and Kyler Spears showcase the turtles in a way we’ve never seen them before, utilizing a blend of 3D and 2D animation to create a unique, rough-hewn (on purpose) style that suggests children’s book illustrations blended with teenage sketchbooks. That edgy look is paired with a script that’s funny and fresh, a soundtrack filled with classic New York hip-hop, and a stunning industrial score by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. It’s clear that Rowe, Spears and writers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (who also produced the film), Dan Hernandez, Benji Samit and Brendan O’Brien, have a deep love and nostalgia for these lovable ‘80s relics, who were ubiquitous in the childhoods of older millennials. These sewer-dwelling rapscalli...
